APPRENTICESHIPS IN CARPENTRY & JOINERY ARCHITECTURAL JOINER/SITE CARPENTER
Intermediate Level 2
The course covers the understanding and application of the following:
- Health & Safety legislation
- Efficient working practices
- Bench Joinery
- Manufacture, mark out and produce of products such as doors, staircases, cupboards etc.
- Moving and handling resources
- Set up and use circular saw
- Site Carpentry
- Fitting door and window frames
- Door linings
- Floor joist covering
- Partitions and plasterboard
- Door and window ironmongery
- Use of hand and machine tools
Course Content:
- Level 2
- Functional Skills in English and Maths at Level 1
- End point assessment. This comprises of a written test and a practical skills test.
Length of Programme:
- 18 months
The course covers the understanding and application of the following:

- Work activities and resources in the workplace
- Set up and use fixed or transportable woodworking machinery.
- Produce complex shaped bespoke products
- Site Carpentry
- Fitting and forming joints
- Working at heights using access equipment
- Using hand and power tools
- Structural timbers (joists/rafters)
- Machine timbers to size and shape
Course Content:
- Level 3
- Functional Skills in English and Maths at Level 2
- End point assessment. This comprises of a written test and a practical skills test.
Length of Programmes:
- 15 months
